Avril Thomson-Smith

Biography

Avril Thomson-Smith is a self-taught artist born in 1975 on the most northerly island in Scotland, called the Shetland Islands. Drawing and painting has always been part of her life. More recently she decided to embrace her hobby and branch out into business.  In May 2023 she opened an art gallery showcasing her work.  The gallery is located on Commercial Street in Lerwick.

The Shetland Islands has inspired her to create a large collection of vibrant acrylic paintings showcasing the stunning Shetland scenery, old croft houses, and colourful wild flowers.
