Richard Gower

Biography:

Gower studied at Batley College of Art in the 1980’s where he specialised in fine art and sculpture. Over the years he has developed a unique style with his ‘Reflections’ series.


Throughout his career Gower has painted in a variety of styles, taking inspiration from Modern Masters such as Sickert, Monet, Picasso and Bacon and over the past few years he has developed his recognisable painting technique finding great success with his ‘Reflections’ work.


Gower has enjoyed sell-out group and solo shows in Central London art galleries, with many of his works now in private collections across the UK, Europe and the US. He has also worked on a number of private commissions, including family portraits, a London cityscape for the Lord Mayor of Westminster, a bespoke commission for the Duchess of York and Purdey Guns to name but a few.


Observation is key to Gower’s practice. Capturing moments in sport or day to day life.


In 2017 Richard Gower painted a portrait of HRH Prince Phillip’s last official engagement which is now held in The Royal Collection.
